We are thinking of getting this awesome dog, but...?

This contract is unenforceable and not especially binding, but it is fairly typical. The purpose of a contract like this to scare away people who are getting a dog for the wrong reasons and to ensure that a dog that passes through this rescue doesn't end up in a shelter or homeless in the future. Like I said, this contract is probably not practically enforceable except in extreme cases, but is fairly typical of what rescues and breeders have adopters/buyers sign these days.
